Matan Companies Partners with Blessings in a Backpack to Feed 2,557 Children

This week Matan employees partnered with Blessings in a Backpack to purchase, pack and distribute an entire weekends worth of food to all of Frederick Counties' participating schools.

The Matan volunteers formed an assembly line in their office gymnasium, where they packed 23,013 food items into 2,557 food bags. The bags, which were filled with oatmeal, granola bars, crackers, cereal, applesauce, sunflower seeds, soup, mac & cheese, and positivity cards, were then packed up into bins and delivered to 17 local area schools.

The food was entirely purchased with money donated by Matan Companies and its employees. In total, $8,320 was donated to the Frederick, MD chapter.
